FAQs

From the moment you book, your ceremony is my priority. The whole process is a collaborative one — based on our initial conversation, I’ll begin to work on creating your ceremony, sharing my ideas and incorporating your feedback as we go, until we have a ceremony that works perfectly for your special day. We’ll be in direct contact throughout, and I’ll be with you every step of the way.
In the days leading up to the ceremony, we’ll meet to finalise logistics and ensure everything is perfect ahead of the big day.
-
You are welcome to book your ceremony at any time — but, as with everything, the sooner you have a date confirmed, the better. Upon receiving your enquiry, I’ll check my calendar immediately and get in touch to confirm my availability.
-
Absolutely! If your ceremony is not happening in Ireland, we can discuss your chosen location and explore the possibilities. I’m happy to assist you in any way I can.
If you are planning a wedding in the Algarve region of Portugal, this can be facilitated relatively smoothly.

I am a registered celebrant, trained by the Irish Institute of Celebrants. I design and deliver wedding ceremonies, vow renewal ceremonies and baby naming ceremonies — and I have many years of experience speaking in public to large gatherings of people.
-
As your celebrant, I create and deliver bespoke ceremonies at a venue of your choice. These are not legally-binding ceremonies.
A solemniser is a person licensed by the State to conduct weddings. A registered solemniser can perform a legally-binding wedding ceremony.
-
The ceremony is a celebration of your marriage but please note that we do not perform legally-binding wedding ceremonies.
You and your partner need to take care of the legal registration of your marriage. In Ireland, you must give 3 months’ notice of your intention to marry. You are required to contact the HSE and complete and return a notification of marriage form by post or email - the 3 months' notice starts when the form is received by the civil registration. Full details found here.
-
If you are resident in another country and returning to Ireland for your wedding celebration, it is often easier and more straightforward for the couple to have their marriage legally registered in the country they are living in before returning to Ireland for the wedding.
Remember the ceremony we design and deliver is a celebration of your marriage but please note that it is not a legally registered marriage.

The fee will be discussed at our initial consultation but you can also contact me for an estimate.
The fee includes all of the following:
Face-to-face (or online) no obligation introduction meeting with your celebrant (15 minute duration)
Unlimited communications (online via Zoom or Skype, telephone, and emails) necessary to create the ceremony
Creation of an original and customised wedding ceremony that will be just for you, exactly as you want it.
A face to face or virtual rehearsal during the week prior to your wedding day to ensure every detail is clear and meets your satisfaction.
* Travel expenses may be incurred if the ceremony is being held more than 80km from my location (Cork). These are calculated based on the distance your celebrant needs to travel to your ceremony location.
* The fee may be higher for ceremonies conducted outside of Ireland.
